Morocco to Deploy Facial Recognition at Tangier Stadium for FIFA 2030

Morocco’s Tangier Stadium is getting attention for using facial recognition technology in its security system. The stadium will use 900 cameras for surveillance to ensure the security of FIFA World Cup 2030 matches.  To get ready for the FIFA World Cup 2030, which Morocco will help host, the stadium will have about 900 surveillance cameras. These cameras will watch both the inside and outside of the stadium.

The FRT system is crucial for enhancing security at the venue. It continuously monitors the venue to ensure fans’ safety and security. This technology facilitates the identification of individuals and improves safety during major events, such as the Africa Cup of Nations 2025. 

Morocco is deploying facial recognition cameras nationwide, particularly in important cities such as Fez and Rabat, to improve public safety and prepare for upcoming large sporting events. It is making a significant step towards smart city security.
