Gladstone Park Secondary College in Melbourne reported that two students have been suspended after spreading online AI-driven sexual images of up to 60 female students. However, the Victoria Police ensure that school official images were exploited while using AI to generate fabricated explicit images. These deepfake images were later shared through social media and other group chats online. Besides, school Principal Veronica Hoy criticized the incident, during the statement, that the “misogynistic and disrespectful” attitude is not bearable, and legal actions have been taken. She also mentioned that parents who spread authentic and fake explicit images of minors are responsible and crime.

Fawker sexual offenses units’ Detective Sergeant Simon Garner also described the images as “Vulgar and despicable” alongside police investigation. Jurisdiction is also facilitating the support of victims and their family members. Department of Education also criticized the act, highlighting the essence of a respectful attitude in schools. In the meantime, eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant confirmed contact with the Victorian Police and the Department of Education to help deal with the incident. This comes after a similar incident in June 2023, where AI-generated deepfake explicit photos of 50 Bacchus Marsh Grammar students were posted online, prompting the arrest of a teen. Investigations into the current incident are still ongoing.
