SPAIN’S AI BILL PENALTY ON MISLEADING DEEPFAKE TO €35M

AI Bill in Spain-Penalty on Misidentifying the Deepfakes to €35M

Spain is following the strict rules and regulations on AI, with the latest AI bill can force a penalty of up to €35 million for the unsuccessful label of AI-driven content precisely. This new regulation is a part of Spain’s huge efforts to fight against the deepfakes and wrong information, contrasting with the EU’s AI bill.

Harsh Punishment for AI Mislabelling

The Spanish government, on the other hand, considers AI clarity seriously. Following the new law, companies that mislead deepfake videos, AI-driven images, or fake content can cause heavy fines starting from €7.5 million to €35 million or 2 to 7% of the global profit. The fines have a purpose to protect misleading AI-driven media that possibly can spread misinformation or fool the public. Besides, larger corporations are expected to experience heavy fines, and the rules are better for smaller businesses and startups, reinforcing that innovation is not oppressive.

Clamp Down on AI Exploitation and Perception

The bill also restricts the AI-generated deepfakes hidden techniques to impact public decisions without letting them know. AI systems that attack the weak people, for instance, gamblers, to promote dangerous behavior will be prohibited.

Furthermore, the legislation bans AI exploitation or discrimination, protecting algorithms for categorizing people depending on race, religion, political view, or sexual orientation. Depending on AI, employee checking can demand human oversight, with non-observant consequences in fines of up to €7.5 million.

Spains Path to Ethical AI

The bill is pending approval from Spain‘s Congress of Deputies. If approved, Spain would be one of Europes most stringent AI regulators, ensuring that AI is employed responsibly while companies are made accountable for unethical activities.
