In order to address these challenges properly, courts need to embrace AI-driven detection technologies such as FACIA, which allows for early, trustworthy detection of manipulated media and restores digital evidence confidence from submission to verdict.
The regulatory strategy with regards to deepfakes differs across the world, every nation and region is creating legislation based on their respective requirements and risk analysis. The US regulatory strategy for deepfakes is still decentralized, with a majority of action taking place at the state level.
